Even Marketers Get Too Busy to Market Themselves

I've been M.I.A for a while. Not because I wanted to be, but because I was buried in work. The irony? I'm a marketer who got too busy to do my own marketing.
Sound familiar?
If you're a builder or contractor reading this, you've probably been in the same boat. You're so focused on pouring foundations, framing houses, managing crews, and keeping projects on schedule that the last thing on your mind is updating your website, posting on social media, or following up with leads.

The Cobbler's Children Have No Shoes
There's an old saying: "The cobbler's children have no shoes." It means the people who provide a service are often too busy serving others to take care of their own needs. I lived that reality these past few weeks, and I see it all the time with the builders and contractors I work with.
You know you need marketing. You know that a steady stream of leads keeps your calendar full and your business growing. But when you're juggling three job sites, dealing with supply chain issues, and putting out the inevitable fires that come with construction, sitting down to write a blog post or plan a Facebook ad campaign feels impossible.
Here's the Thing - You Shouldn't Have To
You became a builder because you're good at building, not because you wanted to become a social media manager or copywriter. Your zone of genius is reading blueprints, managing subcontractors, and delivering quality craftsmanship. Mine is driving qualified leads to you.
When I finally came up for air from work, I realized something important: I can't do everything myself, and neither can you. That's not a weakness. That's just reality.
What Happens When Marketing Falls Through the Cracks
Do these scenarios sound familiar?
You finish a great project. The client is thrilled. You're already onto the next job. Six months later, you realize you never got any photos, never asked for a testimonial, and never leveraged that success story. That's money left on the table.
You got a lead inquiry through your website. You're on a job site when it comes in, you tell yourself you'll respond later, and by the time you remember, they've already hired someone else who responded within an hour.
These aren't hypotheticals. This is what happens when you're too busy doing the work to market the work.
That's Where I Come In
I'm back, and here's what I've learned from my own disappearing act: the most successful businesses are the ones that get help where they need it.
You wouldn't expect your clients to frame their own house. They hire you because you're the expert. The same principle applies to your marketing.
I work specifically with builders and contractors because I understand your industry. I know that your busy season doesn't align with traditional business cycles. I know that your best projects often come from referrals and reputation, but that you still need a consistent online presence to stay top-of-mind. I know that you need marketing that works while you're working.
Let's Build Something
If you've been meaning to update your website, start getting more Google reviews, show up consistently on social media, or finally launch that email newsletter, but you just don't have the time - let's talk.
I've been in your shoes. I know what it's like to watch your own marketing slide because you're too busy serving your customers. The difference is, I've figured out the solution: stop trying to do everything yourself.
You build the projects. I'll build your pipeline.
